The Mall of AMERICA

Thursday February 28, 2008

This weekend Dusty and I took a trip with some friends to Minneapolis to see the Mall of America, the largest mall in the US. Yes, it was quite impressive. It has 5 floors, one of which is a movie theater, and a theme park in the middle. We wanted to ride the roller costars but the lines were way to long. Now you would expect a mall of this magnitude to have unique stores such as Pottery Barn, or Tiffany’s… No instead they choose to fill up space by having multiples of stores. Such as 2 American Eagles, 4 Clair’s, and 2 Old Navy’s. But it’s fun to play in fancy stores like Bloomingdale’s and Chanel.

Dusty was very excited to shop!

The Marc Jacobs purse I wish I could buy, BUT it cost $500.00.

Our friend, Marc Farmer, who we actually found out is family! Our long lost great, great, great.... cousin.

Home Sweet Home

After 2 years of being married and 3 different homes I finally bought some curtains! YEA! Of course thanks to Shellie who had to mail me the final pieces because no Target in the state of North Dakota or Minnesota carried 3 matching curtains in any set.

I love them!!! They really make a difference in this tiny house!

TAGGED

Sunday February 17, 2008

Tagged by Smelly Shelly

If I tagged you here's what you do. Post the words in all caps below and fill in info about yourself. Then, at the end you tell who you are tagging & go and tag 5 friends on their blogs. It's just a way to get to know fun little things about people.

TEN YEARS AGO… I was 13 and in the 7th grade. I played the flute in band and it was my goal to not practice as much as possible. That way I could sit last chair on the back row next to the cute trumpet players. I was also Miss Smarty Pants who got in trouble all the time. My mom enjoyed several parent-teacher conferences.

FIVE PLACES I’VE LIVED… I was born in Iowa and moved to Texas at 3. I stayed in Texas for 20 years until a month ago when Dusty and I moved to the North Pole (aka Grand Forks, ND).

FIVE THINGS ON MY TO DO LIST… Clean my house, Find a new job, Sell Scentsy.. Yay!, meet new friends, and teach Grey to play dead.

I ENJOY… being married and having a husband who supports me. Snuggling with my furry babies… and my husband.

THREE BAD HABITS… being shy, complaining, making grumpy faces.

FIVE THINGS YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT ME… 1) I hate when other people touch my face. 2) I’m a germophobic when it comes to public places and bathrooms. 3) I love taking photos. 4) I love reading gossip websites and often look at them during work. 5) I hate watching sports

FIVE JOBS I HAVE HAD… File clerk at a law firm, Nanny, Marketing Coordinator at a dental office, bowling alley shoe deodorizer (but only for the discount), Legal Assistant at same law firm, and currently looking for a new job.

Winner Winner Chichen Dinner

Saturday February 16, 2008

I just want a certain agriculture family to know that Prescription Pain Pill Abuse IS a crime. And if ever referred to as such in a gaming atmosphere points should rightfully be rewarded (i.e. Scattergories). And from this day forward brilliant thinkers should never be questioned over such an obviously accurate answer.

Our New Can Opener

Thursday February 14, 2008

This lovely Sunday Dusty and I spent the day napping. We had a dinner at a friend’s house only to come home to a Puppy Surprise.

As you can see Grey the destroyer has struck again.
We found that stupidly we forgot to block off our food shelves before we left the dogs in the basement. This time I guess Grey decided to have a fiesta and turned into a psycho can eater! She ate the tuna packets and shredded oatmeal packets. She found a can of soup with the pop-top, opened it and ate it! She also went after the corn, the Rotel and tomato paste. If we had given her just a little more time she could have chewed right through the can!! Now to be fair I know it wasn’t all Grey. I bet Mira and Lynus had their fair share of partying too. I just think Grey is the only one with a strong enough jaw to chew through metal.

Does any one want a free, very well-behaved dog?

Grey prefers chicken and vegetable soup.

Every Kiss Doesn’t Begin with Kay…Anymore

Wednesday February 13, 2008

So this past Friday Dusty and I went to the mall because I needed a few things for the Military Ball. After we finished our shopping we started wondering around the jewelry stores, just for fun. I found one necklace at Kay’s that I really liked and the lady insisted I try it and several others on. I’m sure all of you know how pushy those jewelry sales women are, especially around Valentines Day. Next thing I know she’s throwing numbers at us and pulls out her calculator to figure a total cost. (This is after we’ve told her several times we’re just looking.) Of course I can’t just say no, or I’m not interested, so I come up with a sly way to leave. I say, “Well now that my husband knows which one I really like maybe he can come back when I’m not around and pick one out for a special occasion that’s coming up.” The ladies seem to really like this idea so they let us leave with out any nail marks in our arms.
(Now the great flaw in my plan.)
So the very next day (Saturday) I’m at the mall to get my hair done for the Ball and Dusty decides to wonder around while he waits. As he walks by Kay’s the ladies recognize him and call him over. He stops by and they start back into their sales pitch again. So what does Dusty say to get out this time…. “My wife told me not to come back.” The ladies’ jaws drop and Dusty walks directly across the hallway to Helzberg Diamond!!
I think we can officially cut up our Kay’s credit card now because I certainly won’t be able to show my face there again!

Again, Dusty and I came down stairs to find all three dogs snuggled on the couch. They were actually all lined up watching out the window for the mailman. And no, my dogs are not normally allowed on the couch, only for photographical purposes.
